Speckled Frogs Dayhome offers a creative, interactive program within a warm, friendly home environment for children ages 3-9 years! Our beautiful home is located only one block from Varsity Acres Elementary and includes pick-up and drop-off for grade school and p.m. kindergarten slots only. We have a number of volunteers and a couple ladies on staff who are able to come in and help out as needed, so we are able to keep our doors open on a consistent basis.  Drop-in or part-time care can be made available to families, though precedence will be given to those families looking for either full-time or before and after school care on a full time basis.

Our facility has been recently expanded to include an open concept art studio, an indoor playground/clubhouse and a new cozy corner for those children looking for a quiet space wherein to relax and read. Our main playroom upstairs is spacious, bright and complete with an array of altering activities/toys from our inventory to keep those young minds stimulated and happy!! We are a MEDIA FREE ZONE!! We do not find that children need the excessive stimulation of television/computer or video games, so we ask that parents refrain from sending their children with any of these items. Of course the occasional treat, such as our annual Christmas film with popcorn, is always a delight! :)

Outdoor play, fresh air and exercise is a must at Speckled Frogs, so our backyard outdoor gear needs to be provided on a daily basis in order to accommodate our daily exploration of the great outdoors. The outdoor play space is an ever-changing landscape, complete with a massive sand area, play structure, climbing tree and mountain! Look forward to our upcoming tree house set to be installed by July 2016 and there are rumors of a small zip-line installment in future. ;)a bright, spacious playroom, large kitchen, outdoor play structure, garde

We are an adventurous group, embarking on a local field trip every Friday, as well as daily outdoor/indoor gross motor play. During the summer and over spring break, we bump this up to two outings per week, including everything from local attractions such as the Calgary Zoo, to day trips in the surrounding area. Larger scale outings will be posted and signed off well in advance and have included everything from the Tyrell Museum and Kananaskis Country to the Discovery Wildlife Park and a tour of our very own Bernard Callebaut Chocolate Factory!

Due to the nature of our program, which includes activities such as hiking, biking, skating and swimming, children must be potty trained before enrollment. We also have some friendly day home critters and an energetic border collie named Merlin, so if allergies may present an issue, please bear this is mind and contact us with any further questions. Registration for our upcoming summer program opens in April 2016, so be sure to contact the director, Jennifer Peters, via email speckledfrogsdayhome@gmail.com should this be of interest to your family in order to book your space.

If this sounds like a potential fit for your family and your child is ready for some socializing, play and adventure; please give myself, Jennifer Peters, a call @ 403.202.3929 within regular business hours (i.e. Monday – Friday: 7:30 a.m. – 5:30 p.m.) or send me a text at 403.708.5366 in order to book an interview.
